KC Bier Co. is a German-style brewery founded in 2014 in Kansas City, Missouri. Its Lenexa location is a brewpub with a bier hall and biergarten, alongside the original brewery and tasting room in Kansas City’s Waldo neighborhood. Its motto plays on the German spelling of bier, reflecting its aim to bring fresh, local lagers and ales in the German style back to the area. It aims to match the flavor and freshness of drinking beer in a Munich biergarten by using traditional ingredients and methods. The beer is unpasteurized and brewed with only four ingredients, following a German brewing tradition dating to 1516. Because it is made locally, it avoids the long travel times of imported beer. The company notes that German immigrants brought their brewing styles to America in the 19th century. KC Bier distributes across Missouri and Kansas and hosts an annual Kansas City Oktoberfest.
