Servaes Brewing Company – Atchison

Servaes Brewing Co. – Riverfront is the Atchison brewery and taproom of Servaes Brewing Co., whose name is pronounced like service. Atchison is the hometown of founder and head brewer Courtney Servaes. The roughly 5,000-square-foot space opened in June 2024 in a brick freight depot built around 1887 for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad, which later served as a beer distribution center. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places, and Rick Berger and his family, who own it, renovated it for the brewery. The original Servaes brewery opened in Shawnee in 2019, and the company says it was the first Kansas brewery owned and run by a female head brewer. Servaes focuses on hazy IPAs, novelty beers, barrel-aged beers and sours, sometimes brewed with whole pies or cookies. It also makes Aaron’s Craft Soda, a line Courtney started with her son.
