Iron Rail Brewing

Iron Rail Brewing is a brewery and restaurant in downtown Topeka that pairs house-brewed craft beer with barbecue and Midwest comfort food. Its name and theme honor Topeka’s railroad history. Topeka’s founder, Cyrus K. Holliday, was one of the people behind the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe railroad, started in 1868. That line spurred Topeka’s growth, helped give rise to the Harvey Houses based in the city, which the brewery describes as the country’s first franchised dining and hotel chain, and made the city an important transportation hub. Iron Rail sees itself as part of the story of a revitalized downtown and uses the slogan Eat and Drink Local, Downtown Topeka Proud. Each of its beers carries a local Topeka story. The restaurant welcomes friends and families, and the company also offers catering. In 2025 it won local awards for barbecue, brewery and catering.
