The Green Frog Brewery and Tasting Room

The Green Frog Brewery & Tasting Room is a family-owned microbrewery in Douglass. Owners Shelby and Shawna Green are high school sweethearts who have lived in Douglass all their lives and are raising their three children there. Shelby got into craft beer through a close friend who now serves as head brewer. After visiting other breweries, the couple came to love their relaxed, welcoming feel and wanted to bring that kind of gathering place to their small town, both for locals and to draw visitors. Choosing the name took some family debate. Green comes from the family’s last name. Frog comes from their daughter Lauren, whose initials spell LEG. Her grandfather began calling her Legs, Lauren loves frogs, and the family once kept a pet frog named Legs. The brewery’s goal is simple: make good beer that keeps people coming back. The tasting room also serves wine and food.
