Ladybird Brewing

Ladybird Brewing is a small brewery and taproom in Winfield, owned by Kaydee and Laura Riggs-Johnson. The couple began homebrewing together in February 2018 on a half-barrel system at their home near Winfield, using a kegerator built from an old fridge saved from their church’s trash. They named the business after Kaydee’s nickname. The brewery makes ales and an occasional lager, brewed close to home with carefully sourced ingredients. Many recipes feature Kansas-grown herbs, hops, fruit, honey and grains, with Werner Creek Farm and Kansas Hop Co. as frequent sources. Its stated purpose is to inspire connection and empower community through well-made beer, and it follows a short code of conduct built around gratitude, kindness, hard work and community. The taproom also offers small-batch bourbons, wine, local cider and non-alcoholic drinks, along with snacks and visiting food trucks. Dogs are welcome.
