Discourse Brewing

Discourse Brewing is a brewpub in Overland Park that opened in 2023. Owner Matt Britton began homebrewing in 2016. He and his wife, Amanda, did years of what they call market research in hundreds of pubs, breweries and beer gardens before opening. The name reflects Matt’s love of talking and learning, a habit from his years as a teacher. The rabbit logo is a pun on hops. Matt believes good beer comes from balance, with hops working in harmony with the other ingredients rather than overpowering them. The flagship Dortmunder, Used 8 Track, won a gold medal at the 2026 World Beer Cup. The pub was built as a third space where people can watch a game and talk over a beer. It supports nonprofits through its Community Brews program and donations, features products from other small businesses and offers space for local groups to meet.
